Stargazer Castle Layout

Hello! Samantha here today with a Stargazer castle layout. It’s no secret that one of my favorite things about Paper House is the wide variety of stickers. I love that I can combine a set of stickers (today I’ll be using 3D stickers) with any paper collection to create themed layout that matches my photos.

Supplies: Stargazer Night Sky Foil Paper, Stargazer Galaxy Foil Paper, Stargazer Shine Bright Foil Paper, Stargazer Dream Big Cardstock Stickers, Magical Memories 3D Stickers

I’ve been to Disney a few times in the past 5 years, and I’ve gotten around to scrapping very few of the photos, so when I saw the Magical Memories 3D stickers I knew they’d be a great way to get me started scrapping some of those photos.

These photos on this layout were also taken during the Christmas season, so the castle was decked out in Christmas lights and looked like an ice castle. I felt like the 3D castle sticker, with its pretty white glitter, coordinated perfectly with the icy feel of the castle in my photos.

I used the brighter blue of Stargazer Shine Bright to help lighten up my layout. Since my photos were taken at night, they quite dark as is much of the other Stargazer paper I chose to use. Framing the entire layout with a border of Galaxy paper also helps to brighten up the layout.

In addition to the 3D stickers I used some flat card stock stickers to add some additional texture and dimension to the layout.

Paper House stickers can turn any collection into a themed collection to fit your needs!

Basketball Layout

Hello! Samantha here with you today. Football season ended, and less than a week later basketball season started. I love every minute of watching my kids grow, challenge themselves, and learn through sports. I also love trying to capture some of those moments in this basketball layout.

Supplies: All Star Sports Paper Pad, Basketball Essentials Sticker, Basketball Washi Tape Set

The All Star Sports paper pad has a mix of sports papers in it and one card stock sticker sheet. I think my favorite paper in the whole pad might just be the paper with all the hexagons. Not only is it a really fun piece of patterned paper, but the outline of all the hexagons is a metallic silver that just add so much to the layout. There’s the added bonus that it coordinates with every other piece of paper in the collection!

In my world, no layout is complete without some of Paper House’s fabulous 3D Stickers. I used one of the larger ones for my basketball title and to add a bit of dimension to the center of my photos with the 3D basketball.

I needed something to ground the layout at the bottom, so I added some basketball washi tape. The basketball washi tape comes as a set. You get both the die cut basketballs and the black and metallic silver striped washi tape. You might be noticing that I love the metallic silver touches that run all through this collection and the coordinating embellishments.

I completed the layout with some card stock stickers (7th Grade) clustered up with a few more 3D stickers.

No matter what sports season you’re in right now Paper House has just the sticker for that!

Spruce up your Snail Mail with 3D Embellishments!

By Liv Phillips

I have been avidly writing letter since 2012. Currently, I write to over 200 people across the world and have sent over 2,000 letters. In this time I have learned a few things or to about the do’s and don’ts of sending mail! The first thing that I have learned is that you can be very creative and experimental on what you can send through the mail. I have sent pouches, clear goodie bags, giant postcards and small boxes through the mail and all have reached their destination.

While I usually keep my mail art fairly flat sometimes I like to step out of my own comfort zone and add 3D textured Elements to what I create. I found that the Paper House Productions line of 3D stickers stay on the snailmail that I send. They don’t come off in the postal machines nor do get battered when being sent thousands of miles to their new destination.

This piece of mail I sent to Boston from Portland, Oregon. The embellishments did not come off. My recipient loved the 3D nature of the mail and of course the glittered accents.

Sometimes I do have to modify the 3D stickers if the peices are too bulky or if the stickers need more adhesive added to them. For this I simply pull the foam stickers of from the back of the stickers or use an exacto knife. I then use a craft bond adhesive to make sure that the sticker will stay on.

For this particular piece I decided that the Discover London sticker would be too bulky to reach its destination in Norway. I peeled off the backing of the sticker and then used a craft bond glue stick to adhere it to the envelope. Before I send any mail out I always wiggle any 3D element stickers or puffy stickers to make sure they will stay on. If your fingers can move them add an extra layer of glue!

When sending extra bulky mail always make sure that you use proper postage. I usually add postage for an additional ounce and for mail that is non-machinable. Make sure you check with your local post office to make sure you get the proper rates, but most importantly have fun creating fun 3D Mail Art!

Thanksgiving Layout

Hello! Samantha here today with a Thanksgiving layout. I love this time of year. From fall through Christmas, I just can’t get enough of all of the festive fun. To keep everything enjoyable and not stressful, I plan a lot in advance. This year I figured I could even try planning my Thanksgiving layout in advance.

Supplies: Autumn Woods Autumn Air, Autumn Woods, Autumn Woods Pumpkin Spice, Autumn Woods Washi, Autumn Woods Puffy Stickers, Autumn Woods Cardstock Stickers, Give Thanks 3D Stickers, Kraft Card Stock

Since this is going to be a Thanksgiving layout, I wanted to build my layout around the Give Thanks 3D Stickers. They pair beautifully with the Autumn Woods collection, which is full of deep purples, rich browns, soft teal, and pumpkin orange with pops of white, yellow, and green.

Once I had a rough idea of what paper and stickers I wanted to use, I had to decide how many photos I wanted to take and use on my layout. We host Thanksgiving. I love it, but it’s busy, and I’d rather spend time with my family than fuss over photos. With that in mind, I decided two pictures will be enough. I plan on taking one picture of everyone gathered and one picture of the food.

To give myself an idea of what the finished layout will look like with photos on it, I cut photo mats to use as placeholders for the photos. I plan on using a 4″ x 6″ photo and a 4″ x 4″ photo, so I cut photo mats in 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″ and 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″.

With this naked layout finished, all I will have to do is print out my two photos and attach them to my page after thanksgiving. Prepping this page ahead of time is an easy way to keep my holidays documented without feeling overwhelmed.

Thanksgiving Containers

Hello! Samantha here today with some Thanksgiving containers. These containers are perfect for gifting snack mixes or sending home leftovers from your Thanksgiving feast.

Supplies: Autumn Woods Woodland Friends, Autumn Woods Pumpkin Spice, Autumn Woods Washi, Autumn Woods Epoxy Stickers, Autumn Woods Rice Paper Border Stickers, Autumn Woods Flake Stickers, Give Thanks 3D Stickers

These little aluminum containers come in lots of different sizes. They come with a flat cardboard top. Instead of making my own tops, I cover the top in patterned paper. This keeps the tops nice and sturdy, but makes them so much cuter!

I like these smaller containers, as they are perfect for a snack mix, a piece of pie, or small portions of leftovers.

Leaving large blank spaces on the tops gives you a place to write what is in the container, instructions for re-heating, or even the recipe for what is in the container.

Any of the papers from Autumn Woods works great for covering the lids. I used a mix of embellishments from Autumn Woods and some Thanksgiving themed stickers to embellish the tops as well.

Great Outdoors Layout

Hello! Samantha here today with a Great Outdoors layout created with one of my all time favorite Paper House collections. We’ve had an abnormally warm September and October this year, and we’re taking every opportunity to enjoy time outside.

Supplies:Great Outdoors Hunting Paper Crafting Kit, Great Outdoors Camping Tags, Great Outdoors 3D Sticker, Great Outdoors Rice Paper Borders, Great Outdoors Puffy Stickers, Great Outdoors Epoxy Stickers, Great Outdoors Epoxy Clips

Aptly named “Great Outdoors,” this collection is one of my absolute favorite for scrapping any outdoor photos. While it’s often habit to reach for the gorgeous Autumn Woods collection, Great Outdoors is another fabulous option for scrapping any outdoor activities any time of the year.

You can get the Great Outdoors as part of a themed kit (Hunting, Fishing, or Camping), or you can get individual sheets of patterned paper. The kits come with a set of card stock stickers and a set of 3D stickers, as well. The card stock sticker sheet can only be found in the kits, while papers and 3D stickers can be purchased separately.

I started my layout by layering the patterned papers I wanted to use. Then I added the flat card stock stickers from the sheet included in the Great Outdoors kits. There are coordinating alphas on the sheet that are perfect for creating a title. After I had every flat embellishment on my layout, I added texture with rice paper borders, and epoxy and puffy stickers. As a finishing touch, I added the epoxy clip to my photo.

Whether its spring, summer, or fall outside photos look wonderful scrapped with the Great Outdoors collection.

If you need to add some of the Great Outdoors papers, stickers, or kits to your stash, make sure to use code PH19SAMANTHA to get 20% off your entire purchase at Paper House.

Happy Halloween Layout

Hello! Samantha here today with a happy Halloween layout. I’m a pretty organized person, and I so love all the fun from fall through Christmas. To keep this time of year a bit more stress free, I actually use a binder that I organize at least 100 days before Christmas to plan out all of our Halloween through Christmas fun. Putting together my binder for this year got me so excited to start crafting and scrapping for Halloween that I just had to pull out a photo from last year and get documenting!

Supplies: Wicked Good Trouble is Brewing, Wicked Good Ghosts, Wicked Good Tags, Wicked Good Halloween Epoxy Stickers, Wicked Good Halloween Puffy Stickers, Wicked Good Halloween Stick On Pockets, Wicked Good Cobweb Acetate

The Wicked Good Halloween collection from Paper House is just so fun. It has all of your favorite Halloween icons like ghosts, pumpkins, witches, candy corn, skulls, and spiders, and it does a fantastic job of walking that line between not too cutesy and not too creepy. It really makes these papers and embellishments perfect for scrapping everyone from little kids to adults. My only complaint is that there are so many great embellishments that I couldn’t find a way to use them all on this layout (I didn’t even get a chance to use the fabulous Halloween Washi).

I maximized my embellishment use by placing them in groups around my photo. This way I got to use many of the embellishments, but they draw your eye to the photo instead of taking focus away from it. I also used a stick on pocket as a journaling tag. You’ll need a marker that is permanent on slick surfaces if you’d like to try this trick for yourself.

What are you working on for Halloween this year?

Stargazer Wedding Card

Hello! Samantha here today with a Stargazer wedding card. While Stargazer might not be your first thought when you go to create a wedding card, I’ve found that it can make for a really stunning one. The rich colors and starry motifs can make the perfect background for an elegant wedding card.

Supplies: Stargazer Night Sky Foil Paper, Stargazer Ultra Violet Foil Paper, Eat, Drink, and be Married 3D Stickers, To Have & To Hold Cardstock Multi Pack, White Card Stock, Black Card Stock, Dimensional Adhesive

My cousin is getting married in October, so I needed to make a wedding card. I found out that their wedding color is purple, so I set out to create a purple wedding card. I love the deep shades of purple in Stargazer, so I thought that it just might work.

I chose a mix of both lighter colored sheets of Stargazer and darker ones, but I made sure to crop the paper to really focus on the purple swirls. I used both white and black card stock as a base for the card since Stargazer has both white and black and dark and light elements to it.

To make this card a wedding card (instead of just a really pretty Stargazer card) I added 3D stickers from Eat, Drink, and Be Married. I also used flat stickers from the To Have & To Hold Cardstock Multi Pack.

I love the silver foil accents on the stickers. They add an extra touch that’s just perfect for a special occasion like a wedding.

Have you used Stargazer for any different themed cards or layouts?

Football Layout

Hello! Samantha here today with a football layout. I don’t know about you, but in our house fall means lots of football; playing and cheering on our favorite teams. Until this year, my kids only played flag football. This year is my oldest son’s first year of tackle football, so I definitely needed to document his first game.

Supplies: All Star Paper Pad, Football 3D Stickers, Football Mixed Stickers, Football Cardstock Stickers, Football Faux Enamel Stickers

This is one of those layouts where the wide variety of stickers that Paper House carries really helps make the layout come together. Because I chose the big, all over football print as my base for this layout, I had to keep the rest of my paper choices pretty neutral. I went with a football turf green paper for one accent and a blue paper for my second accent (my son’s school colors are black, blue, and white).

To help add pizazz to this layout, I added quite a few stickers in different textures and finishes to tell the story. I layered flat alpha stickers over a card stock football sticker. I put a faux enamel arrow pointing to my son in the sea of Nighthawk football players, so I’ll always remember which one he was. I layered clear metallic stickers over the photo. I also added some 3D and chipboard stickers to add more texture.

Many of the football stickers and some of the patterned paper from All Star have touches of metallic gold or silver to them which really helps tie everything together into one cohesive layout.

Whether you’re cheering on a favorite team or a favorite player, Paper House has all the football stickers and papers you need to document your team spirit.

Puppy Layout

Hello! Samantha here with you. We got a new puppy this summer, and he’s just so darn cute that I can’t help but take his picture…and now I’ve got to scrap those photos. Whether your K9 friend is a new puppy or just a puppy at heart, I hope my puppy layout makes you want to scrap your dog too!

New Puppy Layout Small

Supplies: You Had Me at Woof 3D Sticker, Dog Micro Sticker, Great Outdoors Into the woods Double Sided Paper, Great Outdoors Better When Camping Double Sided Paper, Great Outdoors Tags Double Sided Paper, Great Outdoors Hunting Tags Double Sided Paper, Great Outdoors Washi Tape Set, Halloween Washi Tape Set

New Puppy Layout-002 Small

Since Paper House doesn’t have a specific pet collection, I started with some fun dog themed stickers. I wanted a mix of textures and sizes, so I chose the You Had Me at Woof 3D Stickers and the Life Organized Dog Micro Stickers. I print my photos at home, so I printed 3 1/2″ x 5″ photos on 4″ x 6″ photo paper. I trimmed the photos down to give them a bit of a “Polaroid” look. Then, I used the Dog Micro Stickers to create a fun detail under the photos on the white border.

New Puppy Layout-003 small

After I had my puppy stickers picked out, I raided my stash of Paper House collections for paper that matched. I decided that paper from the Great Outdoors collection coordinated with the stickers. I wanted a few more embellishments, so I reached for my Washi. Of course, I used the camo Washi from the Great Outdoors Washi Tape Set, but I also found that the orange and white Washi from Halloween Washi Tape Set was a great match, too! I also love that both Washi tapes have a metallic detail to them.

New Puppy Layout-001 Small

This puppy layout is the first of many, many dog layouts in my future. I can’t wait to see how else I can use Paper House to capture these memories.
