When I learned that the theme of this project would be sparkle, you bet I started to sparkle myself! I love anything to do with foil, glitter, and anything that sparkles! Paper House Productions has a ton of products with foil in it and with the help of Scrapbook Adhesives I was able to create the perfect sparkley project!
The 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit made it so easy to create the beautiful wings and make sure they stayed upright! The foam is double sided so you’re able to apply the foam to one side and then stick things down and onto your project. This can be seen by the small circles I used to frame the quote – so easy! I used Scrapbook Adhesive’s EZ Dots Tape Runner to help glue the rest of the project together.
Hey, everyone! Hope you’ve had a wonderful start to spring so far! It’s Caitlyn back on the blog to show you how to make some really easy planner clips! Want to know how easy? They should take 10 minutes or less! Wow.
Planner clips are such an easy way to add personality to your planner. Those within the traveler’s notebook community truly take their planner clip game to the max. Often times you’ll see photographs of just the top part of their notebook, showing off all of the beautiful clips they’ve collected. The best part of these particular clips is how different you can make these – just by using washi tape!
There are several steps to take to get to the point shown in the photograph above. The first step is to take thin cardboard, like from a cereal box. Once you have your chosen material, you can start to create your diecuts. Place strips of washi on your material in any order that you would like.
Depending on how you’re cutting your diecut, these next few steps will change. For this particular project, I used a stamp and diecut set. I stamped my design first and then moved along to cutting the diecut. It’s very important to line your diecut up with the stamp. If you’re not using a stamp you can proceed to just cutting the diecut.
Now we can start assembling your clips. Take one of your die cut pieces and lay it face down, blank side up. Use your Xyron tape runner to apply adhesive to the bottom portion of your die cut. Then place your paper clip down on the adhesive.
Instead of using the tape runner for the other half of the clip, I used my Xyron Sticker Maker. Using Xyron’s Sticker Maker machine allows me to add adhesive to pieces quickly and accurately. To add adhesive place your element into the machine, keeping the design side up. Then you will pull the adhesive paper on the other side to help guide the object through the machine. The Sticker Maker helps you make sure that you have adhesive on the full design. This helps to create a nice seal on your two diecut pieces, making sure that your paperclip will stay in place.
In this photo you can see the first clip completed. I very carefully matched the shape to the second diecut and then pressed the two pieces together, creating a sandwich. I then repeated this process two more times to put together the other two clips.
Now you should have your completed planner clips! The total time from start to finish each clip was around 10 minutes, making this particular project not only easy, but fast.
I hope you all enjoyed this super easy project! I hope you all start to create your own planner clips to add to your planners.
Welcome to the Color Me Happy Blog Hop! We’re pairing up with SpiegelMom Scraps all week long for some colorful projects showcasing out collections and their sequins! We’ve got a great giveaway so be sure to stick around to the end of the post to get more details!
Hi everyone! I created this layout using the Marbleous paper pack and the coordinating card stock stickers. This collection is just gorgeous! The colors are stunning and the gold foiling really add the perfect touch!
I also used the stunning Make My Heart Sing sequin mix from SpiegelMom Scraps. They add just the perfect amount of sparkle and texture to the page!
Anytime I get to create a project for my planner I get really excited. The products over at Spieglmom Scraps makes planner projects even easier to create! All you need is a vision and an idea to make it happen. A little help from some sequins doesn’t help, either!
Here are three super easy planner project DIY’s that you can make for your own planner!
Project One: Planner Charm
Planner charms are really fun to have! Not only are they decorative, but they allow you to have your personality and ideas shine! In order to put together a similar charm you’ll need a small glass bottle with a wide mouth.
Add some glitter, some Chocolate Cookies sequins, and a small element of your choice and you have the base to your charm! All you need to do to finish it off is add a chain and some additional elements you might want to include.
To finish off my charm I added some ribbon and a key. You can easily add your own elements to create something all your own.
Project Two: Shaker Planner Clip
The first time I ever made a shaker box was when I was 12. It was in a scrapbooking class with my mom. They were so fun to create (and still are!). I’m so happy that shakers have crossed over into the planner world as well! I knew that I needed to create a really cute shaker clip using the Easter Basket sequins.
With the help of the Stargazer Faux Enamel stickers and both the Easter Basket and Morning Dew Drops sequins, I was able to create a beautiful clip!
Project Three: Planner Dashboard
Dashboards can be utilized in multiple ways and adapted to different styles of planner. You can create them for regular spiral bound planners, for traveler’s notebooks, or any planner that you can think of! All you need is some plastic, some sequins, and something to seal your shaker.
When I saw the Mystical Mermaids Faux Enamel Stickers I knew I needed to include them in my dashboard! My original vision for this was a lot simpler, but they needed to be included! The Color Washed 12″ Paper Pad had some great quotes included in the pack! By utilizing some of the pre-made pieces that were the perfect size for a dashboard, I was able to layer everything together to put this together! To help bring my vision to life, I pulled some of the smaller blue and purple sequins from the Rainbow Bright sequin set and added in the rest of my Morning Dew Drops. Don’t they look like bubbles?
The opposite side of the dashboard was an absolute no brainer! I didn’t add sequins to this side as I wanted the quote to be the highlight.
The washi edging made punching the holes for my planner a breeze. Plastic often breaks certain hole punches, so I always recommend adding a thinner layer such as washi to punch through. The Stargazer Washi Tape Set looked great with this dashboard, so that was an added bonus!
I hope you enjoyed these little projects I put together for you! See you all in my next post.
Hey, everyone! Caitlyn here and I’m so excited to be making my debut here on the Paper House Productions blog. I am a huge planner addict and I’m excited to be sharing some of my favorite tips and tricks and planner spreads with you. Creating in a planner is a lot easier than you would think and my goal is to show you how much fun it is!
January is the time where I try to get myself set up for the new year. When the new year comes around it means taking the time to learn a new planner and create the style that will come with it. Luckily the Life Organized line makes things really easy! With my Free Spirit planner by my side, I am ready to take on 2018!
The monthly view for this planner is gorgeous! There is plenty of space to include multiple events for each day that you want to see in one glance. In addition to ample space for your every day, there are helpful sections in your side bar! Each section in the side bar helps to keep your month on track without sacrificing space for your day to day events!
Getting into the weekly view was just as enjoyable as the monthly! I personally like to write my plans as they come to mind, but the layout is broken up into thirds. Depending on your personal style you could divide each section into morning, afternoon, and evening or follow my personal style and just write it in!
For this first week I opted to utilize the bottom section to write down my different goals for the year! For each day I wrote down a category and my top three goals for that category. The weekend days I devoted to including my personal goals that I wanted to focus on. I wound up coming up with a lot more than three things, but all of it can be done! The best part of coming up with my goals? I was able to use the super cute stickers found in the back of the planner to help keep them organized!
Each piece of the Free Spirit line helps you to create the perfect boho inspired planner spread! It’s so easy to coordinate each piece to fit your needs.
I adore full box stickers! Some days you don’t have a lot to write down and it makes decorating your planner spread that much more of a breeze.
Being able to utilize the functional stickers in my planner is so helpful! Not only does it save me on having to write, it gives me a chance to add some more cute features to my spread!
