December Album

Hello! Samantha here with you. Today I’d like to share a little bit about how I memory keep (aka scrapbook) for the busy month of December and show you a few of my pages in progress.

Supplies: Christmas Joy Craft Set, Christmas Joy Puffy Sticker, Peace Love Home Double Sided Paper, Home for Christmas Tags Double Sided Paper

I put everything that happens into December into a mini pocket page style album. If you’re a flat scrapbooker, journey or travelers notebooks work well, but if you’re like me and like to use lots of 3D stickers and lumpy bumpy embellishments, a thicker binder style book works better.

I always start by creating my cover. This year I’m feeling a bit sentimental, and the glittery house on the Home for Christmas Tags Double Sided Paper had me feeling all warm and fuzzy, so I built my cover around that .

Everything that happens in December, all the pictures I take, go into the December album for that year. Sometimes the photos are festive and Christmas themed and sometimes they are just regular life things.

Because December is so busy and filled with fun events and memories, this style of printing photos, adding a journaling tag, and popping on a few fun stickers works really well for me. It’s fast, utilizes a lot of the fun Christmas stickers and embellishments that Paper House has to offer, and helps me get my memories down on paper while they’re still fresh in my mind.

All of these mini December albums get put on a shelf in the living room when we put out our Christmas decor. It’s so fun to look through them throughout the month and see all of our holiday memories and traditions.

Tiny Greetings with Natalie

Hey friends! Natalie here with some tiny holiday greeting cards that are so cute & easy to whip out in the very few days we have left before Christmas!

I created these tiny cards & envelopes for tins of baked goods we are giving our friends.

I think the envelopes are a great way to add a wow factor to a homemade greeting card. The smaller, the more impact because who doesn’t love a tiny envelope?

I used the Christmas Joy Craft Set to create these cards. I created the envelopes with a little tool and used Paper House patterned paper for that as well. Then I used the cardstock stickers and some 3d elements to embellish.

Another way to add a wow factor to your small greeting cards is to add sewing. It is a quick step to add texture, and non-crafty recipients will be wowed!

I love to layer my embellishments to add dimension. I added cardstock stickers or glitter die cuts, and then added a second layer of 3d embellishmetns or another cardstock sticker. I also used the Christmas Joy puffy stickers!

These tiny cards came together so quickly, they’d be a fast project you can complete before the big day on Wednesday. They’d also be great translated into Valentine’s cards!

I wish you all a very merry Christmas & a happy New Year! I cannot wait to see what all Paper House has in store for us in 2020!

Pinterest Inspired Christmas Joy Scrapbook Layout

CarolynCircle2I’m so excited for Christmas but also sad that this is my last post as part of the 2017 Design Team. This has been such an amazing experience for me – thank-you Paper House Productions! Now for my final layout. Our theme this week is to be inspired by a layout from the Paper House Productions Pinterest page. I chose a layout by our fabulous team leader – Christine Meyer.

Here is my layout:

I thought putting paint behind an acetate paper was a brilliant idea. It was so much fun. I splattered and smooshed it with plastic packaging on a piece of white cardstock. The plaid paper is from the Great Outdoors collection and the remainder is from the Christmas Joy collection.

I cut the stars from the stick on pockets. This was a great way to stretch my supplies. I’ve made so many layouts and cards with this collection!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to stop by the Pinterest page for lots of inspiration for your Paper House goodies! Happy Holidays!

December Pocket Album Pages

Happy December! Samantha here with you. Every December I create a pocket style mini album that I use to document all the fun we have during December. I love having all our memories in one place, and truthfully, if I didn’t do a quick pocket style album for December, it might never get scrapped. I love Christmas and pack in a lot of fun! Today I have the first few pages from my December pocket album. It’s not too late to start your own!

Supplies: Christmas Joy Tags, Christmas Joy Peace Joy and Love, Merry and Bright 3D Sticker, Christmas Magic Cardstock Multipack, Christmas Puffy Stickers

I like to keep my designs simple. Cut apart tags are a great way to fill empty space and add a pretty design element. Add a sticker or two right on top of your photos for an extra touch of personalization.

The best part of scrapping an album like this is that you can come back to add more if you’re creating a page about an activity that takes place throughout the season. For example, we watch Christmas movies and have special treats all December long. I still have space to add one more photo, and it’s really easy to pull out my journaling tag to add to the list of movies we watched and coordinating treats that we had.

You can even mix and match the sizes of your photos. I mix 4 x 6 pages in with my standard 6 x 8 photos. There are no rules here. The more you mix the textures of your embellishments and sizes of your photos, the more you’ll love your album.

How do you document your December?

Christmas Joy Scrapbook Layout

CarolynCircle2

Are you getting excited for Christmas?! I sure am! It’s Carolyn back today with a scrapbook layout using the Christmas Joy collection. There are so many fun stickers and pretty papers, this layout was easy to make.

Supplies for Christmas Joy Layout: Christmas Memories 12″ Double Sided Scrapbook Paper, Merry and Bright 3D Sticker, Christmas Magic Cardstock Multi Pack, Christmas Flake Stickers, Christmas Puffy Clips, Christmas Stick On Pockets, Peace Joy and Love 12″ Double Sided Scrapbook PaperChristmas Joy Tags 12″ Double Sided Foil Scrapbook Paper.

I began with these two pictures of super excited children eagerly awaiting their gifts. I really love the Christmas Memories paper so I used it as my background. I cut out the wreath with my Silhouette Cameo using the Peace Joy Love paper. Next I layered the stripe paper behind my photos. On the other side of the photos, I used the poinsettia stick on pockets. The holly leaf stick on pocket is perfect for holding one of my pictures.

Can you find the flake stickers on my layout? They blend in so perfectly, it is hard to tell they are not part of the pictures. The star on the tree, the Santa hat, the holly leaves and four of the presents are flake stickers.

To finish the layout I used a 3D title and pulled the puffy clip present off the clip to add dimension. There are also cardstock stickers for some sentiments, the date and star embellishments.

Make sure to stop by the Paper House Shop to pick-up some Christmas goodies! Have a wonderful, scrappy holiday season!

Christmas Joy Cards

CarolynCircle2Hello! Carolyn here to show you three really fun Christmas cards. I used the Christmas Joy Life Organized collection. All three cards required my Silhouette Cameo and corresponding files from their store to cut the images. I just love how they turned out!

snowmancard3PH

This snowman card is a piece of 12 x 12 white cardstock folded and then cut in half. I cut a square of the stripped paper and a slightly smaller square of brown paper. The first layer of the snowman is brown, then white, then red. I finished it off with some buttons and google eyes from my stash and Life Organized puffy stickers.

windowcardPH

The window card is a layer of red paper, then white, then brown. The reindeer, trees and green strip are from the rice paper border stickers. The stars are a mix of epoxy and puffy stickers and the sentiment is from the cardstock multi pack.

candycanecardPH

The candy cane card is a layer of brown paper that I back-stitched with embroidery thread before adhering it to the white cardstock. I cut those candy canes a few times before getting the stripes to line up the way I wanted! The center stickers are 3D and the surrounding stars are epoxy stickers.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Now I just need to decide who gets to receive these cards!

Christmas Card with Gift Card Holder

Happy Holidays! Samantha here with you. I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving. I LOVE this time of year between Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you’re like me, you love adding a hand made touch to your gifts, especially if you giving something like a gift card. Today I have a handmade Christmas card with gift card holder to share with you.

Supplies: Christmas Joy Tags, Christmas Joy Gold Dot, Christmas Joy Merry & Bright 3D Sticker, Christmas Joy Rice Paper Border Sticker, Christmas Joy Stick On Pockets, Christmas Joy Flake Stickers, Christmas Joy Epoxy Stickers

As always, Christmas Joy has so many fantastic coordinating embellishments that I had a hard time choosing just a few to use. I love adding embellishments in a collage style cluster. It’s a great way to get lots of embellishments on the card without it feeling cluttered.

For a simple yet pretty way to hold a gift card add a coordinating Stick on Pocket on the inside of the card.

How do you like to ad hand made touches to your holiday gifting?

Christmas Cheer!

Hey there Paper House fans!
Lisa back with you for my final post here at Paper House Productions. I would like to thank everyone at Paper House for having me this last year. I truly enjoyed working with your fun products!

Have you scrapped your Christmas photos from last year? Today I am sharing a Christmas layout that I used photos on from last Christmas. I figured it was time to get some of these scrapped.

Christmas Cheer Layout Supplies:

I fussy cut the circle with the holly and berries on it and used pearl dots from my stash for the berries. I also fussy cut that cute squirrel and popped him up with foam tape.

I choose the background paper because it matched the wood walls in the photos. I cut 2 of the 4×6″ cards and used those to balance my layout. One I used for the matting of the photos and the other for my journaling.

I fussy cut the tree, house (love all that glitter!) and all the snowflakes (more glitter!) I added some bling to the centers on the snowflakes.

I fell in love with the adorable fox on this 4×6″ card! Isn’t he just the cutest?!

Finally I added some of the Sculpted Stickers and a few of the Cardstock Stickers.

Happy Holidays Scrapbook Layout

On a unseasonably warm day in early November, when my daughter was home visiting,I made the family sit down for our first ever Christmas Card Photo Shoot.  I had all the props and seating planned out.  It was going to be fun.  With some being less than enthusiastic, this is what I had to deal with…because of the warmth, my husband would not change into long pants, my oldest forgot that we were going to be doing this, so he too had on shorts. Once captured, my youngest grandson would not be in the picture without the Target Toy Ad and my youngest son insisted on wearing his bandana.  Maybe next year, I’ll go back to making homemade cards. (sounds easier). Here’s how I documented this moment!

Peace on Earth Scrapbook Layout

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a 12 x 12 mixed media page. I have used some beautiful Christmas papers to surround an old photo of my husband and niece. She’s hitting him over the head with a foam bat. He’s pretending to be in pain, hahaha!  You can see my father-in-law in the background.

Supplies Used:

img_6678-s-and-r-upper-left

To make this page I put the photo on white cardstock, added layers of Paper House paper, and finally a piece of foam core board. I sponged on gesso, stenciled on texture paste, and poured on crackle paint.  I let the crackle dry overnight.

img_6679-rich-and-sara-upper-right

I added gauze and gesso around the photo, then layered on glass glitter and mica flakes. I coated it all with more gesso, then started painting. I used a few shades of green and brown watercolors and mists.

img_6680-rich-and-sara-lower-right

I put on some flowers, a few painted die cut leaves, metal, bling, green micro beads, and pearls. I made the dark edges on the layers under the photos with a watercolor pencil.

img_6681-rich-and-sara-lower-left

You can see I used gold mica powder underneath the photo.  Whenever I used paint or heat to dry things, I protected the photo with a piece of paper.

Thanks so much for looking, and have a great week!
