Hidden Souvenir Storage Featuring The Travel-France 2D Destinations Stickers

Katie King CircleHi everyone! Whether you are an avid traveler or only travel every so often, one thing is for sure, everybody loves collecting souvenirs. Now, we can probably all agree that souvenirs, though fun to collect and share, do take up a good amount of space. If you are someone who travels, all of those postcards and little replicas of monuments, can add up fairly quickly. So, to solve this storage dilemma I came up with a fun way to store your items while also displaying your travels.

In today’s project post, I am going to show you how to make some Hidden Souvenir Storage featuring the Travel-France 2D Destinations Stickers! If you are not familiar with the Destinations Stickers, they are basically a group of stickers that have a certain destinations theme. For example, today I will be showcasing the Travel-France 2D Stickers which features cathedrals, museums, and vineyards in the sticker packet. I will be using these stickers to decorate a paper mache box which can be used as hidden storage for your souvenirs items, while also acting as a decorative home décor piece.

To create your own Hidden Souvenir Storage, you would do the following:

Step 1

Step 1: Paint your paper mache box and set it aside to dry.

Step 2

Step 2: Cut a piece of scrapbooking paper from the Color Washed 12″ Paper Pad that is a bit smaller than the lid of your box. Once your piece of scrapbooking paper has been cut out, glue it down to the lid of your box.

Now, grab a mini clothespin and glue it down to the spot where you would like to display a photo or postcard from your trip. Then gather up your Travel-France 2D Stickers and begin playing around with how you want them to look on the lid of your box. When you are happy with the placement of the stickers, press them down firmly into place.

Step 3

Step 3: Take your lid and lay it flat on your work surface. You will want the back of the lid to be facing you, like in the photo. Then grab the body of your box and apply some strong adhesive to one of its sides. Then take the body of your box and press it into the lid.

Refer to the above photo to get a better idea of how it should look.

When your pieces are put together, you are now ready to fill up your box and add it to your bookshelf!

For my hidden storage box that is about France, you can see that I displayed a postcard from Paris on the front of the box and used the storage part in the back to hide some souvenirs/mini photo albums. I think this storage method is a great way to not only display photos from your trips but it helps to keep all your souvenirs (from one particular trip) in one place.

Vermont Traveler's Notebook Using Destinations Stickers

The new Destinations stickers have both flat and 2D Stickers and even some foiling.  I made good use of them on each spread.  I like to cover one side of each spread with patterned paper and the Autumn Woods collection has the beautiful rich colors I needed.

New Hampshire Traveler's Notebook Using Destinations Stickers

For my last two spreads I switched to patterned papers from the new Great Outdoors collection.  While it’s outdoors themed, it still lends itself to autumn pictures (and some winter too).  I’m looking forward to playing more with this rich collection.

I love the practical uses for the Stick On Pockets and how you can use them on so many projects.  I used one here to tuck my journaling into.  Wanna check out more on how I put these together?  Here’s a process video that shares more details

Now that I have these put together, I’m really itching to get on the road…but first to pack!
