Hi everyone! My name is Katie King and I am one of the newest members of the Paper House Productions Design Team! To explain a little bit more about myself, I am a DIY blogger, who believes that crafting should be simple, fun and unique. The name of my blog is Running with a Glue Gun and the types of crafts/DIYs that I tend to make on my blog are home décor.
Since this is my first project for Paper House Productions, I thought it would be fun to show you how to decorate a shadow box house in only 3 steps! In this project, I am using the Marbleous 12″ Paper Pad and Life Organized Embrace Today Puffy Stickers. This may seem like an odd combination, but the Marbleous 12″ Paper Pad contains 48 sheets of gorgeous marbled paper and the Embrace Today Puffy Stickers are the perfect size for the individual sections of a shadow box.
To create your own shadow box house, you would do the following:
Step 1: Paint your wooden shadow box white and set it aside to dry.
Step 2: Measure the inside sections of your shadow box. Then grab your Marbleous 12″ Paper Pad and cut pieces of scrapbooking paper that fit those measurements. For my shadow box, I used 2 different pieces of scrapbooking paper from the Marbleous 12″ Paper Pad. The first piece of scrapbooking paper had four different marble patterns on it and the second piece had a collage of different phrases.
Once you have cut your pieces of paper out, begin decorating each piece using your Embrace Today Puffy Stickers. Now, these stickers were originally designed for planners, but they are the perfect size for the inside of a shadow box. Also, since they were originally designed for planners, the arrows and little phrases help to make your items (in the shadow box) stand out even more.
Step 3: When all your paper pieces have been decorated, use your favorite adhesive to glue each paper piece into each section of the shadow box.
After all of the paper pieces have dried, you are now ready to fill up your shadow box and display it!
By painting the house white and using the brighter colors of the Marbleous 12″ Paper Pad, it really helps to make your items in the shadow box stand out. Also, the Embrace Today Puffy Stickers help to ”frame” your items and add a bit more detail to each section. For example, I like the look of the ”love” sticker above my miniature dog figurine.
Thank you so much for stopping by today and for taking the time to read my very first project post for Paper House Productions! I’m so happy to be on the design team and I can’t wait to make more projects for you guys.
