Hi everyone! Laura here with you today to share a bright and “Just Beachy” LO created with the beautiful rich colored, foil accented papers, matching stickers, and alphas, found in the Paper House Sun Drenched 12×12 Paper Pad.
These paper pads have so much in them to play with with!! The great journal type cards you can layer up (the starfish and the “splish splash”) and also the cute stickers you can use for fun accents around your pictures. The quality of the heavy cardstock stickers from Paper House is amazing!
The foiled papers are great to use as an accent….here I just cut a 2&1/2″ strip of the paper and then cut it into different widths.
They are arranged at different heights under the edge of the paper before being glued down. A little tip to make them easier to work with….once I thought the pattern of the paper strips looked good, I gently lifted the paper mat, and used a strip of double stick tape to hold all the paper strips together. Then I could move them around where needed to glue them onto the page, without having to worry about them shifting out of place. I curled them up slightly to give them a little more of a fringe effect.
Another bonus is having matching alphas right in the Sun Drenched paper pad!
Cute and colorful….I love having matching alphas to add titles to my page…..how about you? When I scrapbook, I tend to have one or two pages in a set of pictures that have journaling telling most of the story, for the other pages, I like my title to tell the story. It’s also great to have a couple of different alpha options included to make the title a little more interesting.
Hi there! Laura here with you today sharing a project idea for a sweet gift for a friend, neighbor or just about anyone. Good for a grad, or someone who just needs a pick me up, or thank you. This is created with the Color Washed 12×12 Pad collection from Paper House.
This is a great journal set for someone to keep their goals, dreams or just random thoughts about what they are going through on a daily basis.
The gift box keeps the journal and any other memento the recipient would like, and is a reminder to keep a positive attitude….the Color Washed 12×12 pad is full of gorgeous papers in bright cheerful colors, along with journal boxes and border strips with positive uplifting messages!
The inside of the box is decorated too to keep those positive vibes coming…..
Next is the journal and gift card…
The sweet simple card was made using some of the scraps from creating the box, and also the stickers that are included in the Color Washed Pad….they look like gorgeous water-colored pieces of art. You can keep the project simple and still make a bold beautiful statement.
The journal is just an inexpensive dollar store type notebook. By adding the papers, stickers and a little ribbon, it turns into a pretty little journal better than most store bought journals. If you want to add a little more pizazz, you can decorate inside the front cover (a little bonus inspiration!) and even add some of the small 2×2 squares that are also in the Color Washed pad to give little positive reminders throughout the journal.
Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure you stop by the Paper House website to take a look at all the 12×12 paper pads they have available. They have a great selection, and with the stickers, journal cards, and gorgeous papers included you are ready to create multiple projects with just one paper pad!
Hello everyone! It’s Laura here with you today, sharing a scrapbook page created with the Paper House Destinations Travel stickers. These are great if you love to travel….about anywhere you go, they have you covered!
We travel to the beach in North Carolina every year, and of course I take a lot of pics to scrap! These Paper House Destinations stickers have a great selection of different stickers whether it’s a road trip, a beach trip, or if you are just playing tourist and seeing some of the sights.
I did start this LO off with the Marbleous….one of the beyond gorgeous 12×12 paper pads Paper House has to offer. It includes border strips….you can see where I layered some of those along the top and bottom edges of my page. It also has a lot of gorgeous foiled papers, like the hexagon paper I used. I cut it into 2 pieces, and fussy cut around one edge to give it the page a fun background. Here is a picture before I added in the other layers and photos:
These marbled papers are truly stunning! They make such a great backdrop for pictures, and there are so many different color palettes to choose from in this one 12×12 pad.
In this close up, you can see the foil, and better yet, you can see the amazing details in the Destination stickers!
Don’t you love the little license plate and the road sign? Adorable!! Do you take the pictures of the state welcome signs like I do? Even if you don’t you can use these stickers! They really layer up great too!
These Destinations sets also have a perfect little state outline sticker too. It’s such a fun detail as you can see here:
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure to stop by the Paper House store and check out their huge selection of all the different Destination stickers! You’ll be ready for scrapping that next vacation or road trip!
Hi everyone! Laura here with you today, and so excited to share my first project for Paper House, a home decor wall hanging memory project using The Great Outdoors Fishing scrapbook paper collection kit!
Scrapbooking is awesome and one of my favorite things to do, but home decor can be just as fun to create, and can still be used to capture and display your memories! A great way to add pictures to a home decor project is to create a “pocket” for tucking in a photo by tearing the piece of paper, and layering it with a contrasting paper. I used the wood grain paper with the fish hook paper behind it. These gorgeous papers are all included in The Great Outdoors Fishing collection kit from Paper House. There are also great coordinating stickers in the kit–even the alphas are included!
These amazing I’d Rather Be Fishing 3D stickers have such cute details, like the actual fishing line on the pole, and the 3D realistic looking fish! Fun to layer up with The Great Outdoors papers too, a lot of great designs you can use for fishing, camping, scouts….so many options!
I’m a huge fan of the journal boxes in this kit too….they are perfect for scrapbooking those “fish stories” and also for putting the finishing touches on this home decor project. My guys can see this hanging on the wall and always reminisce about that fishing trip, and the memories of “one that got away”!
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are inspired to try a new way to capture those memories by creating some home decor! The collection kits from Paper House make it so easy to do, I hope you give it a try!
This month, we got to play along with a really, really fun and great product! I loved these Pen Blades…really! They are really great craft knives..in fact, I even found my husband checking them out while I was working, and since I had three he asked if he could have one! I used my Pen Blades to fussy cut some elements from the Baby Girl collection pack and I ended up creating not one, not two, but three 8X8 pocket pages for my neice’s baby album Im making for her.
The Pen Blades were a fabulous tool for fussy cutting the intricate flowers and banners to create 4X4 cards for my pocket pages.
Thank you so much for joining me today!
I have video to share as well showing how all these pages came together!
Hour Seven: Happy National Scrapbook Day! Today we are celebrating all things Scrapbooking related! Each hour we will be sharing a new post with some inspiration combining Paper House products and our designer’s favorite techniques!
Of course we can’t have a celebration without a giveaway or two! Stay tuned at the end of the post to find out what we’re giving away! Now let’s hear from Samantha!
Happy NSD! Samantha with you to share some tips for a technique I use on almost every layout; mixing and matching patterned papers. But before we dive into that, I get to share a little about myself and my crafty habits!
What’s your favorite type of paper crafting? I really love creating mini albums! I make them in any size out of just about anything. Where do you go for inspiration? I like to look at home decor and interior decorator sites (especially on Pinterest) for color combo inspiration. I’ve found the fashion industry is also a great place to find current trends in colors and textures. Where do you do your crafting? I am truly thankful to have a room dedicated to my crafting. It’s stuffed full of lots of re-purposed and second hand storage options. What are your favorite crafting tools? All of them! I am a tool junkie. I love trying out new tools as well as using lots of old tried and true ones. What are your favorite Paper House products? The Puffy Stickers. These are not the puffy stickers of your childhood! They are whimsical and rich looking, and just so fun! What are your favorite colors to work with? I tend to gravitate towards blues and greens. How would you describe your crafting style? My style tends to be clean and simple. I also like to watch current trends and blend them into my style. Do you like it quiet while you work or do you have music or tv on? I love to have Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon on in the background. Have any good series suggestions for me? What’s your go to snack/drink while you craft? I tend not to snack when I craft, but I do love coffee anytime.
Just like any technique, some people are pros at it without ever thinking about how they do it, some people love it after some practice, and some people will decide it’s just not for them. No matter what your experience level is with mixing and matching patterned papers, I’d love to hear about (and see!) your experiences with this technique.
If you’re new to mixing and matching patterned papers, the best thing to do is stick to one paper collection (like I did here by using One Big Happy Family). As you get more comfortable working with lots of patterned papers at once, you can pull papers from multiple collections.
The second thing to look for is a patterned “neutral”. Here my patterned neutral is the woodgrain paper. It’s manly one color, with no big bold patterns on it. A patterned neutral will help ground your layout and keep things from looking too busy.
The third thing I always try to find is a patterned paper that has all of the colors of the other papers and embellishments you plan to use in it. It will help tie everything together and will make your layout look cohesive instead of disjointed. On this layout, the blue patterned paper is the paper that serves in that capacity.
Play around with the order of your layers. I pull out all the papers I’m thinking about using and I start to layer them up in different piles. I pull out or add papers based on how I think they look together. For example, on this layout I tried the blue patterned paper on top, and I tried the red patterned paper on top. For whatever reason, the red paper looked wrong on top, but fantastic underneath the blue paper.
Finally, don’t be afraid to use your embellishments to tie all your patterns together even more. I used label stickers from Everyday Moments Labels to pull more pinks and reds into the layout, which in turn helped the red patterned paper layer pop a bit more.

Hi Paper House Fans! Sue joining you today with a Flipbook! As soon as I received this new Flipbook I fell in love. This interactive album has plenty of room for photos, and lots of places to write down memories, plus it has special pockets for keepsakes.
How cool is that?
Since mere pictures won’t show you how fun this album is…
I decided to make a short video.
I spent more time editing and uploading the pictures to be printed than it took me to put this album together. I decided to keep my album simple with just a few stickers. I’ll go back later and add some journaling.
But…with the extra large spine, you’ll be able to get carried away embellishing. (if you’d like)
