Brothers Scrapbook Layout

KattyCircle2

Hello friends! Katty here to share a fun scrapbook layout with you all. I am working with the awesome PenBlades and the Discover USA Collection. Even though the Discover USA Collection is a travel themed collection I used it for everyday photos. I am scrapbooking two photos of my boys a few years ago.

Brothers Supply List: PenBlades, Discover USA Papercrafting Kit, One Big Happy Family 12″ Cardstock Stickers

I began with several patterned papers from the Discover USA Collection, for my background I used a dark woodgrain paper. I used a large strip of a green patterned paper down the center.

FullSizeRender 13

I used the Penblade to cut out triangles from a red checkered patterned paper and used that as a frame behind my photos. I added white cardstock behind the triangles and traced them with a navy blue pen.

FullSizeRender 14

I used some of the cutaparts behind my photo.I also used some above and below the photo. I used a few stickers from the One Big Happy Family Sticker sheet as well. I finished it off with some white ink splatters.

I love how it turned out. Thanks so much for stopping by today. XOXO -Katty

Dad Scrapbook Layout

Julie Tucker-Wolek Circle 2

Hi everyone! Julie here today, and I am sharing a layout I made using the ‘One Big Happy Family’ collection! Since it is the month celebrating Dad’s, I wanted to make a layout showcasing my hubby and our daughter!

22

Supplies used: PenBlades, One Big Happy Family collection,  Dad 3D Sticker

And with my layout, I used the fabulous PenBlade! I used the #15 PenBlade!28

I had these strips leftover from another project, and used the #15 PenBlade to shape them down for this page! They are so easy to use!27

23
Here’s a close look at all those fun dad phrases that come in the cut-apart pages in the collection!24

Isn’t that frame fun? It kind of looks like they are holding it!

25

3D Stickers are such a great way to add dimension to your layouts!  These dad ones did the trick perfectly!

Thanks so much for joining me today!

Happy Father’s Day!

Julie Tucker-Wolek Circle 2

This first one is for “Dad” and combines cardstock stickers and patterned papers from the collection.

While it contains serious and loving quotes, it also contains some funny and sarcastic ones too!

Xyron and Paper House “We Are Family” Blog Hop – Day Five

PHP_Family-Co-Hop2017

I am excited to be wrapping up our week of family themed projects with Paper House and Xyron. My family is spread across the US. Now that my niece is 2, I love to find ways to let her know we love her so, even though we don’t get to see her often. I used paper from Paper House’s One Big Happy Family and Hello Baby Girl  to create a mini album of photos of us with my niece. The journaling in the book tells her how much we love her. To keep it durable, I used lots of flat Planner Stickers and Clear Stickers to decorate the album, as well as plenty of Xyron 3″ Sticker Maker adhesive. I made the album especially kid friendly by laminating it with the Xyron 5″ Creative Station.  This is a book that she can flip through, look at, and read. You can find all the details for making this We Love You book on my blog, Taylor Stamped.

It’s the last day to enter our giveaway, so be sure to get your entries in!

This week we have teamed up with Xyron to feature family projects. The One Big Happy Family Collection has everything – stickers, transparencies, frames, cut aparts and themed pieces for every member of the family. I used the Xyron tape runner to stick all my papers together. Then I used the sticker maker to turn the floral circle paper on the top left corner into a sticker. Here are some images to show how easy and fun this is.

I placed the paper in the machine, pulled the tape out and the paper was now between the adhesive and the peel off cover. Then I peeled off the cover, removed my new sticker and attached it to my layout.  Supplies Used: One Big Happy Family Collection,  Xyron Tape RunnerXyron 1.5″ Sticker Maker

Paper House Productions has a fantastic collection to commemorate this, Hello Baby.  There are so many ways to use this collection, the versatility is amazing.  Xyron adhesives are wonderful, they cover so nicely, and adhere as much or as little as needed. I was extremely excited that our team would be collaborating with Xyron. I loved using the awesome Xyron products alongside the Paper House Productions One Big Happy Family Collection. Since our theme is family, I am documenting a set of photos of my kids,  niece and nephew making funny faces while playing scrabble at our house. It was a fun family moment. The One Big Happy Family Collection is perfect for these types of layouts. I absolutely loved making my own stickers using the fun Xyron Products. If you’d like more details on how I created my layout head on over to my blog.

Combining the Tape Runner with the 3″ Sticker Maker made it easy to pull together all the pieces of this layout.  All those circles came together with the sticker maker.  One Big Happy Family was perfect for capturing this time with my family.

Xyron & Paper House “We Are Family” Blog Hop – Day One

PHP_Family-Co-Hop2017

Welcome to the Paper House Productions Blog!  We’re thrilled to be teaming up with the talented team at Xyron this week! Both teams will be creating some beautiful family themed projects and sharing them here, on facebook, and all our social media outlets! We can’t have a fun Co-Hop and not give away a fabulous prize – be sure to check out all the details at the bottom of this post!  Now let’s get to Melinda and her creation:Xyron Paper House Productions Blog Hop Layout

Hello crafty friends!  Melinda here with you today. I am super excited to share the layout I created using the One Big Happy Family Collection! Here’s a look at my completed layout. I used papers from the One Big Happy Family Collection as well as adhesives from our friends at Xyron.

Layout Supplies: One Big Happy Family Collection,  Xyron Tape Runner, Xyron 3″ Sticker Maker, Xyron 1.5″ Sticker Maker

Here’s a closer look at the box pleat frame as well as the medallion. I used the Xyron 1.5″ Sticker maker and ran all of the strips through. This made pleating a cinch!

Here’s a closer look at the curtain pleat. I created it and then resized it so it would fit on my picture. I added a sticker flower from the cardstock sticker sheet that is included with the paper crafting kit. I used the Xyron 3″ sticker maker for the curtain pleat. Once again, running the paper through the sticker maker allows you to pleat the paper and have it hold perfectly!

Here’s a closer look at the fancy border frame. I created a wavy box pleat for this one. I also added some pearl stickers for a little extra accent.  The letters are also cardstock stickers from the cardstock sticker sheet included with the paper crafting kit. I love that it all coordinates perfectly!  I cut the pleats out of my Pazzles and then pre-folded them. Once I folded them, I flattened them back out and put them through the Sticker Maker.  I simply fed one after the other so as not to waste any of my sticker maker!

I am sharing the box pleat border cut file as a thank you for stopping by and joining in our hop! Be sure to pick it up while available!

National Scrapbook Day – Hour Nine – Giveaway!

Hour Nine:  Happy National Scrapbook Day!  This is the very last post for today! Today we are celebrating all things Scrapbooking related!  Each hour we will be sharing a new post with some inspiration combining Paper House products and our designer’s favorite techniques!

Of course we can’t have a celebration without a giveaway or two!  Stay tuned at the end of the post to find out what we’re giving away!  Now let’s hear from Renee!

Renee Timmerman Circle2Hi Everyone!! Renee here, I am so excited about National Scrapbooking Day!I wanted to show you guys one of , well- two of- my favorite techniques which of course- are layering and clustering embellishments. I’m not even sure what I love about it, maybe it’s that I can use so much of my stuff and don’t have to pick when making a page! Or also the fact I can be creative and make anything in to an embellishment. I am the last one who gets to share a little about my crafty habits today – here you go!

What’s your favorite type of paper crafting? My favorite type of paper crafting is simply doing 12×12 pages. I just love all the space and different ways I can take it with creativity!
Where do you go for inspiration? I usually go to Instagram for inspiration. There’s so many creative people out there and I love being inspired by their work in a million different ways. I also am often inspired by a collection in general- reminds me of pictures I haven’t thought of in a while.
Where do you do your crafting?  I craft often just in bed. I bring my rolly carts on over, turn on the T.V. and get comfy with my blankets; then go to town.
What are your favorite crafting tools? My favorite crafting tools are probably Scrapbook Adhesive, various products as well as my Silhouette Cameo.

What are your favorite Paper House products? I love the Paper House Collection Cut Apart Sheets- I use them as embellishments or in my pocket scrapbooking page. There’s so many ways to utilize them!
What are your favorite colors to work with? I am drawn to anything bright and colorful! Makes me happy!
How would you describe your crafting style? A hot mess. That’s how I would describe it, I seem to just like to use as much as I can while still trying to feature the picture/item on the page.
Do you like it quiet while you work or do you have music or tv on? I am always watching TV even though, I have to rewind it often to actually pay attention. It’s how I get through my DVR list and get my work done at the same time.
What’s your go to snack/drink while you craft? I don’t think I have a particular go-to; give me all the foods.

familypage

For this layout I used the Paper House line, One Big Happy Family to document this early picture of my sister’s family. I love this picture so much and the fact it was already in sepia tones- made it easy to work with this line.  I layered behind the photo with different cut aparts along with forming clusters with stickers and fussy cutting of some of the papers.  On the bottom of the page, I cut the border from the cut apart sheet along with a little of another page layered them together to place behind a paper I fussy ripped on the top. I couldn’t stop with my little clusters so I added some on both sides of the bottom segment of the page.  I just can’t get enough!! I love utilizing as much as I can of my supplies and this is the best way I know how!

National Scrapbook Day – Hour Seven – Giveaway

Hour Seven: Happy National Scrapbook Day!

Now let’s hear from Samantha!
—————————————————————————————————

Samantha Taylor HS Circle 2Medium Size

Happy NSD!  Samantha with you to share some tips for a technique I use on almost every layout; mixing and matching patterned papers.  But before we dive into that, I get to share a little about myself and my crafty habits!

What’s your favorite type of paper crafting? I really love creating mini albums! I make them in any size out of just about anything.
Where do you go for inspiration? I like to look at home decor and interior decorator sites (especially on Pinterest) for color combo inspiration. I’ve found the fashion industry is also a great place to find current trends in colors and textures.
Where do you do your crafting? I am truly thankful to have a room dedicated to my crafting. It’s stuffed full of lots of re-purposed and second hand storage options.
What are your favorite crafting tools? All of them! I am a tool junkie. I love trying out new tools as well as using lots of old tried and true ones.
What are your favorite Paper House products? The Puffy Stickers. These are not the puffy stickers of your childhood! They are whimsical and rich looking, and just so fun!
What are your favorite colors to work with? I tend to gravitate towards blues and greens.
How would you describe your crafting style? My style tends to be clean and simple. I also like to watch current trends and blend them into my style.
Do you like it quiet while you work or do you have music or tv on? I love to have Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon on in the background. Have any good series suggestions for me?
What’s your go to snack/drink while you craft? I tend not to snack when I craft, but I do love coffee anytime.

Just like any technique, some people are pros at it without ever thinking about how they do it, some people love it after some practice, and some people will decide it’s just not for them. No matter what your experience level is with mixing and matching patterned papers, I’d love to hear about (and see!) your experiences with this technique.

Supplies: ONe Big Happy Family 12″ Paper PadOne Big Happy Family Mixed Card PackEveryday Moments LabelsFamily Planner Stickers

If you’re new to mixing and matching patterned papers, the best thing to do is stick to one paper collection (like I did here by using One Big Happy Family). As you get more comfortable working with lots of patterned papers at once, you can pull papers from multiple collections.

The second thing to look for is a patterned “neutral”. Here my patterned neutral is the woodgrain paper. It’s manly one color, with no big bold patterns on it. A patterned neutral  will help ground your layout and keep things from looking too busy.

The third thing I always try to find is a patterned paper that has all of the colors of the other papers and embellishments you plan to use in it. It will help tie everything together and will make your layout look cohesive instead of disjointed. On this layout, the blue patterned paper is the paper that serves in that capacity.

Play around with the order of your layers. I pull out all the papers I’m thinking about using and I start to layer them up in different piles. I pull out or add papers based on how I think they look together. For example, on this layout I tried the blue patterned paper on top, and I tried the red patterned paper on top. For whatever reason, the red paper looked wrong on top, but fantastic underneath the blue paper.

A

Finally, don’t be afraid to use your embellishments to tie all your patterns together even more. I used label stickers from Everyday Moments Labels to pull more pinks and reds into the layout, which in turn helped the red patterned paper layer pop a bit more.
