Step 1 and 2 – Paint a canvas (any size you like) with a thick, messy coat of heavy white acrylic paint…you want some texture…the more the better! After drying, apply random feathers from the project pad to the canvas, using a removable adhesive (oh, and choose designs you are less likely to want/need for another project)
Steps 3 and 4 – Spray your creation with a heavy coat of gold spray ink so it settles in all the cracks and crannies…leave to dry for at least 24 hours or until completely dry. Remove the feathers to reveal a negative image. Build your home decor piece from there, using more feathers, craft fun foam, and any other little notions you would like. thread, buttons, twine…anything to add interest and texture.
Finish by applying an appropriate quote, saying, or words of your choice. I chose to cut my scripture from black cardstock with my Silhouette but the options for this are endless!
Another great use for his project pad are clean and simple cards…Paired with some stamps, mist, ink, or sewing notions from your craft room can create a striking card in a snap…these two took me 10 min. including drying time!
Hello Hello! I’m so happy to have you joining me today! I have a fun scrapbook layout to share with you using The Great Outdoors Collection! I love the rich colors in this collection and the ease with which I could mix and match the traditional scrapbook products with the Life Organized products to create a fun grid style layout.
Hello Hello! Sara joining you today with a planner spread using the brand new Kawaii planner products which I admit to being completely in love with. They are the cutest! I loved them in my planner…every time I open to these pages, I just have to smile!
With so many colors in the project pads, it made it very easy to find colors to coordinate with my decor. My dining room is designed around one of Monet’s Water Lilies painting and, yep, its painted purple….which makes this frame a wonderful addition to the room, and I have the perfect spot to hang it! I also loved adding the clear stickers for tails for some of my butterflies, gold accents, and some pops of teal (also in my dining room!)
Thank you so much for joining me today! And be sure to get one (or two) of these project pads…I promise you will find lots of uses for them!
Welcome to the Paper House Productions Blog! It’s Day Two of our team up with Xyron! We’re thrilled to be teaming up to share beautiful family themed projects here, on facebook, and all our social media outlets! We can’t have a fun Co-Hop and not give away a fabulous prize – be sure to check out all the details at the bottom of this post! Now let’s check out what Sara and Julie have in store for us!
I used the Xyron Sticker makers to create layered embellishments on my layout. I used the pattern on my background paper to create me layout design. I used elements from the One Big Happy Family collection for my layout..it’s one of my favorite Paper House Production collections!
Julie also worked her magic with the One Big Happy Family Collection:
Combining the Tape Runner with the 3″ Sticker Maker made it easy to pull together all the pieces of this layout. All those circles came together with the sticker maker. One Big Happy Family was perfect for capturing this time with my family.

Of course we can’t have a celebration without a giveaway or two! Stay tuned at the end of the post to find out what we’re giving away! Now let’s hear from Sara!
Hello Hello! I hope your NSD has been filled with scrappy fun! My favorite technique to share with you today is one that is artsy without being too messy and with out warping the paper! I call it the framing technique and it uses some Distress Ink…but only two colors! I paired my technique with elements from the Paradise Found collection of products. But before we get to that here’s a little about me:
What’s your favorite type of paper crafting? Scrapbook Layouts..its what I started creating first and its always what I love best! Where do you go for inspiration? So many places!! I think the two biggest are Pinterest and You Tube..but I also really love the gallery at A Cherry On Top Where do you do your crafting? Currently I scrapbook in our office/school room of our house. Until, recently, I had a dedicated room, but we needed it to serve as my youngest bedroom. I dont miss it a whole lot, just when I need to do a voiceover or edit a video What are your favorite crafting tools? A good pair of sharp, detail scissors. What are your favorite Paper House products? OH, those puffy stickers!!! What are your favorite colors to work with? shades of aqua, minty colors How would you describe your crafting style? I think I am pretty traditional, I like to create pages with good balance, and color, and I like design principles. Do you like it quiet while you work or do you have music or tv on? I like quiet but I rarely get it… I usually have conversation and kiddos swirling around me. What’s your go to snack/drink while you craft? Bottled water, hot tea…and maybe some chocolate.

Hello Hello! I’m so happy to have you join me today for two more spreads in my planner! I have been having so much fun playing and documenting little things in my planner! This spiral-bound book is perfect for this type of on the go scrappy musings and memory-keeping. Let’s take a look…
This week included a snowstorm, an amazing movie (If I do say so myself), and some sketching for future projects….
Love the gold-foiled stickers that come with the planner…perfect to accent my photo of a movie poster…
Here is a look at my second week too…a little less decorated due to a nasty stomach but I still had a lot of fun playing with the stickers.
