Majken is sticking around to do some more designing for us in 2019 BUT before we dive into the new year we wanted to take a look back at some of her creations from 2018.
Here at Paper House we have a lot to offer to those who like to create themed scrapbook layouts. Although Majken doesn’t do those exclusively, the themed layouts she does certainly rock! Here’s a few of those creations!
Majken also does an extraordinary job of telling the story of life with non-themed products. Here’s just a handful of examples!
We’re looking forward to seeing what kind of creations she has up her sleeve in this new year!
Sketches are a great way to get a jump on a layout and create something fabulous! Samantha is joining us today to share the August sketch as well as her take on it!
We love how this is packed with some fun angles but is still simple enough for anyone from a beginner to an advanced scrapper to use! Let’s check out how Samantha used it for her Back to School Layout!
I chose the paper that I wanted to use for my layout and started planning where I wanted my photos to go. I always do this step first every time I work on a scrapbook layout before I start adhering them onto the paper. This gives me time to adjust them and plan on what embellishments I needed to finish my designs.
I matted my photos with black card stock and adhered them to my layout.
I think a scrapbook layout should always tell a story. Without it, it’s just a photo album! I always like to write the story with my own handwriting as it gives it a more personal touch. Hopefully my children will be taking care of these books when I’m gone, and they will be able to pass it on to my future grandchildren.
Hi everyone! Daisie here with a layout I created using one of my favorite products from Paper House Productions. This layout is made almost completely from the Color Washed Paper Pad. This collection is bright, colorful, and vibrant. Perfect for any of my teen girl layouts!
I started with a white textured cardstock background that I misted with some gold mist. I layered the white cardstock on a watercolor paper from the paper pad. This added stability and a gorgeous pop of color around the outside of the layout.
I then used the cut apart sheets from the paper pad. I used mostly 3×4 cards but I did cut a couple of the 4×6 cards down. I just layered them around my photo in a way that I found pleasing to my eye. The colors are so bright and beautiful that it was hard to pick out which cards to use! Some of the cards have the gold foiling on them so I tried to make sure that the foiling showed. It goes so well with the gold mist on the background.
I worked on my title next. I used the tile letter stickers from the included sticker sheet for the smaller words in the title. I used the white “love” cardstock sticker also from the sticker sheet.
I decided to use the Brunch Faux Enamel Stickersto add some embellishment and to play up on the photo. These stickers have awesome foiling so they really go with the papers I chose.
Today, I got to have a ton of fun by choosing a product that I have been wanting to work with and haven’t gotten a chance to yet. I knew immediately that I wanted to use the Sticky Pix Clear Cuts Adventure Awaits with Foil Accents . I didn’t intend to use the whole pack…but….109 stickers later, I am in love with this super fun custom background!
I started out by tracing around a kitchen bowel (yep! very technical and sophisticated work) to create the orange background for my photo to be contained within. I knew that this was going to have to be pretty bold and not too busy because of the rest of my layout design ideas. I then used by sewing machine to add some stitching around the outside border of the page as well as around the circle element.
Next, it was time to go sticker crazy! I grabbed the sticker flip book and just started adding stickers to the entire background. I started with the biggest designs and moved by way thru all the way to the smallest designs.
Happy March! I cannot believe how quickly this year is going already. How are you doing with getting your stories told? One story that I have been wanting to tell for awhile is about my nickname (Wonder Woman). As soon as Paper House Productions released their Wonder Woman products, I knew that I just had to use them to get this story told.
This layout was sparked by this keychain photo. My kids bought me this keychain to help remind me how strong they think that I am and because they all call me Wonder Woman. Sometimes, this little reminder can definitely help make it through a tough day so I wanted to make sure that I documented this phase of life since everything seems to change so quickly.
I started out by tracing a couple of plates from my kitchen to create the circles for the background that I wanted to hand-stitch. Then, I printed off an online coloring book page (these are great if you haven’t ever tried it) to use as a template for creating my paper-pieced Wonder Woman logo. That yellow paper is from the Sundrenched Paper Pad and it worked perfectly to create a subtle mixed media look without any mess!
Next, I created a little flip tab on the top left corner and used by mini stapler to attach it the background. That gave me a perfect little home for this puffy sticker of Wonder Woman as well as a couple of stars.
I am really looking forward to playing with these licensed products even more as I have lots of superhero dress-up photos of my kids as well as Halloween costumes, plays, and a custom bat mobile bed that my little guy used to have…but those are stories for a different day! I hope that you enjoyed seeing how I documented my superhero nickname and I will see you again soon!

Hello Everyone! Daisie here with a fun layout and process video featuring the Great Outdoors Fishing kit. This kit comes with 9 double-sided 12×12 pattern papers, a 12×12 sticker sheet, and a sheet of 3D stickers. I also added in a couple of the Great Outdoors puffy stickers. More than enough to document any big fish tales you may have!
I started with a white cardstock background from my stash. I added some dark blue mist sprinkled on to set the scene. I used a stock image of a fish that I found on Google for my template. I then went to town with the papers in this kit to create my fish.
The Gone Fishin’ 12×12 paper was perfect for my fish. One side has a beautiful ombre effect that starts darker on the bottom and lighter on top. I chose to flip the paper the other way for the body of my fish, even though the anchors ended upside down. The belly of the fish is created with the opposite side. It has a gorgeous misty outdoor scene. I loved the color of the trees and thought it would make for a great fish belly. I finished him off with some woodgrain fins from the b-side of the Into The Woods paper.
I matted my photo with a thin mat cut from the Catch Of The Day paper. It has colorful fishing icons all over it. While you can’t quite make out what they are from the mat that I used, it helps tie in all of the colors. I added a lot of the 3D stickers as embellishments around my photo. My title came from the 12×12 sheet of stickers that come with the kit. I finished it off by bringing some more of the colors around my page with the Great Outdoors puffy stickers. This collection is the perfect way to highlight this great catch!

Hello everyone!! Daisie here with another layout and process video for you. This layout features the Arizona, Canada, and Discover USA Destination stickers. These 3D stickers are great representations of each location. They are perfect for scrapbooking, travelers notebooks, and planners but would also work really well for work or school projects or presentations.
The layout I created showcases the locations of myself and my scrapbooking best friends. We met online and we are all from different places. I was able to directly represent their locations with the Destination stickers. I used some of the Discover USA to represent my location.
The background paper is from the Great Outdoors collection. It was the perfect neutral for this layout. I also pulled the Outdoors Flake Stickers in for some additional embellishment. I did some mixed media in the background with some mists but covered most of it up. I love the depth it adds to this paper.
Hello my crafty friends! My name is Maria Russell and I am one of the newest members of the Paper House Productions design team. I am super thrilled to be sharing a scrapbook layout showcasing the At The Beach 12 x 12 Paper Crafting Kit. This pack is AMAZING as it contains card stock and puffy stickers to embellish my project. I thought it’s perfect to showcase the photos that I took while my husband, daughter and I were in The Maldives in July of 2016.
I started out by printing a couple of my photos with my colored printer and cut these photos down to size. When I do scrapbook layouts, I kind of just go with what I feel that day and I don’t overthink about making sure the lines and photos are all perfect! It is after all, a handmade project!
I also added the card stock stickers and journaling cards that are included in the pack:
I adhered the alphabet stickers and the rest of my embellishments to finish my design. Here’s what it looks like:
I hope you all got inspired today! Don’t forget to check out the beautiful paper products available at http://www.paperhouseproductions.com. I also listed and linked the supplies that I used below. Have a wonderful day!
