Have you ever heard the phrase, sometimes less is more? Today, I am showing you an easy way to add a lot of impact with just a few (7 to be exact) feathers from the incredibly versatile Project Pads offered at Paper House…these Project Pads can be used for a multitude of projects.
I used the Feathers Project Pad for the altered frame you see below. Yes, that’s it. That’s all I needed to create the effect needed, which was golden, feathery, white and gentle.
I bought a bare frame and painted it as shown.
Next, I actually covered the glass pane that came with the frame with chalkboard paint. I then got to work hand lettering the fitting lyrics, and then went over them with white glitter glue so there was a bit of magic. Adding two tacks (eyeball this) in each corner, created the perfect placement for the feathers. I used a hole punch to punch holes in each feather, going for different lengths and sizes. Green twine was the perfect touch as the feathers were strung “on the line”. After the twine was pulled taught and wrapped around the tacks, I added a bow and bell for each corner. A little glitter added here and there, and we can call the project finished ! Thanks for letting me share with you!
I wanted you to see a close up of those gold foil feathers because they are really, really perfect for the holidays as a perfect punch of holiday shine. Just take a look!!
I hope I could inspire you to create something for others or yourself in preparation of the upcoming holidays! Have a great day!

Hi there! Who’s got their September plans all made and looking pretty in their planners? I dove into mine earlier in the month and wanted to share with you how I incorporated several items from Paper House Productions to my September Planner Spreads.
Hi everybody! Shannon joining you today and I’ll warn you in advance, this post is picture heavy! I am going to admit something to you, I was intimidated by planners. It was not something I wanted to embrace, I didn’t think I would be able to fill up pages with details of my life, my family, our day to day. On the contrary, I have been busy making plans with my Kawaii Planner.
I honestly didn’t think my days added up to that much. I am a housewife, I don’t have a job that I leave the house everyday, I felt kind of silly writing down…laundry. As I began recording things I needed to do, had to plan for and appointments..I saw that my days were actually filled, they were important, they did matter to the people I am surrounded by. There was no reason for me to feel like my days didn’t matter because they weren’t filled with important meetings and deadlines. My meetings, emails, deadlines are important too. Everyone has a role in this fabric of life. The point here is use your planner, enjoy filling your planner, realize that comparison is the thief of joy and know your days matter whether you’re a mom or a businesswoman, or both!
I’m sharing the last few weeks of my life with you and the month of September, as I am still filling the days. Paddy and the boys are in full football mode and right now, it is all we know, and that’s ok. I’m the Meal Mom, and I am so happy to take care of the boys each week and the planner helps me keep everyday moments recorded and organized.
Paper House Productions planners and accessories…what can I say about them? The real question is…what can’t I say about them?!?!? They are simply amazing. They are easy to use, they coordinate with other lines and meld perfectly together. You can layer them or you can let them stand alone.
The Kawaii planner has so many fun colors and coordinating accents, consequently you can’t help but smile!
The planner offers plenty of space for you to write down all of the important to do’s, dates, appointments, random thoughts…there are so many possibilities.
The Stick-On Pockets are a fun addition to any spread.Adding details to the planner are almost effortless.
Guess what?!?! I’m jumping right into September so stay tuned for that! Thank you for letting me share with you!
As a FALL & WINTER enthusiast…let me just say..hooray for summer’s end. I look forward to the end of summer every, single, year. That doesn’t mean I loathe summer, ok it does, but I grow more gleeful as summer closes. I still document summer…because some of the best people I know have birthdays in the summer.
Little Leo loves his cousin Mack, but even more than that….water. I had to scrap these pictures right away, they can’t help but make you smile. I will carry these memories of silly, sweet Leo and my beautiful Mackenzie’s simple joy and love.
My cousins are my heart. We are lucky. We support each other and love each other. We get to spend time together and laugh a lot. Recently we celebrated dear Leo’s 3rd birthday and I loved this picture of us so much that I had to document it right away.
There was a box that came in the mail for me this week that turned my not so stellar day right around. This box contained the new releases from Paper House Productions. I’m not going to pretend that I wasn’t overwhelmed with all of the beauteous things that came in that box. I didn’t know where to begin. You are going to love all of the inspiration that the team will be sharing with you!
Let’s be honest for a second, there’s a subject that memory keepers and moment documenters kind of dance around, or have a hard time sharing, and that is death. It’s a memory no one cherishes or likes to address. It’s necessary though, because it’s part of life. The point is, simple kindnesses like I’m sorry/thinking of you/sending prayers and sympathy cards can mean all the difference in a grieving person or persons day. Shannon joining you today to share a sympathy card created combining Paper House Products and a stamp from My Sentiments Exactly.
I’m glad that companies like MSE (My Sentiments Exactly) make stamps for this purpose. MSE has clear stamps and the more traditional wood stamps, there truly is something for everyone! They created a really beautiful sentiment stamp that I used along with some Paper House Productions products to create a sympathy card.
The picture doesn’t really touch upon on all the gold, and while gold may not be a traditional mourning color, it is a celebration of someone’s life and hope for those left here to grieve. I see nothing wrong with sending “love and light” someone’s way. Smiles are what actually make the world go ’round. Here’s a better shot of all the details.
Have a great week, thanks for letting me share with you! ❤
It’s July. Can you believe that? J-U-L-Y. This actually makes me happy because FALL is near. Yes, I said it, FALL!
I’ve been planning for Fall since school ended a few weeks ago. Our family is a football family and the season is peeking at me from around the corner. July is already a month filled with planning and prepping for football season. I want to show you my take on planning. It always seems like I am walking chaos, I need a planner. Not only that, I need my planner to motivate me and inspire me not to procrastinate.
Say that 3 times fast! Happy Wednesday, Shannon here sharing a set of cards with you! Yes, more cards. 🙂 The wow factor on these cards? They literally and figuratively pop off the page! How did I do this you ask? Well let’s check them out!
I created two cards, I really wanted to highlight the Project Pads:
There are two different ways you can use the Frames Project Pad, there’s a RAISED frame or a RECESSED frame, I created one of each for you to see. The card below features the raised frame, and a kind and caring sentiment! Take a look at all of the colors and textures:
Here’s a close up so you can see the dimension of these cards, you can create a dimensional envelope or simply tuck inside a gift or basket!
The second card features the recessed frame, there are great sentiments pre-cut, ready for you to add inside these frames if you aren’t using a picture, you really can’t lose with the patterns and fonts in this project pad! Take a look at card number two:
I am sharing another close up so you can see how cool the layers are on this card, these project pads really are versatile and fun!
Good morning! Shannon here and I’m wrapping up the Pen Blade week with a set of four cards! The Pen Blade works great! It is so versatile and can cut in a straight line effortlessly, or make super fussy cuts seem so easy! Take a look at the cards!
