Nicole Martel Project Recap

Every team member has a niche for us and Nicole’s niche is the 8 1/2 X 11 size layouts.  We know lots of you like to create in that format and are so glad to have a designer who does too!  Let’s take a look back at just some of Nicole’s colorful creations!

Don’t fear, she’s not going anywhere just yet!  We’ve asked her to stick around and keep cranking out those beautiful layouts!

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a post for Paper House. I love the photorealism of these papers, the colors and details are amazing!  My son Nick didn’t want to be goalie at this game, this is his “angry” expression.

Supplies Used:

To make this page I tore the top layer off a piece of corrugated cardboard.  I painted it with yellow and orange acrylic paint. I pressed on some embossing ink around the edges, poured on clear embossing powder, and heated it almost completely. I dry brushed on layers of gold and turquoise paint, sprinkled on linen colored embossing powder, mica flakes, and micro beads. I topped it off with white gesso and pearl mica powder. I put the photo with layers on the soccer paper on some foam core board for dimension.

To pick up on the look of my son’s hair, I sprayed water on a piece of canvas, and pulled out the horizontal threads with a straight pin. After doing that to the four sides, I then applied gesso, then black watercolor.

I used mod podge to adhere two sheets of old scrapbook paper underneath the black cardstock ,to keep the project flat. I applied gesso around the cardboard with a cosmetic sponge, then glued on dry embossing powder to make it look as if there’s dirt on the page.

I pressed die cuts onto an embossing ink pad, and put on gold and copper embossing powder. After I heated them, I dabbed on some turquoise metallic paint.  I added some metal pieces and flowers, then topped off the page with a little gesso, followed by pearl mica powder.

Thanks for looking at my page, and I hope you liked it!

Soccer Layout

Hello everyone! It’s Lee-Anne joining you today and I’m very excited to share with you my first design team project for Paper House Productions.

I love all the sports themed papers and thought I would create a layout of my youngest son Clayton when he was 5 years old and playing on his first soccer team.

Soccer Layout Supply List

I began my layout with a 12X12 piece of white textured cardstock and added paper strips to the four edges.  I fussy cut 3 paper soccer balls and added them to the white cardstock. Isn’t the Soccer Ball paper adorable?

For my 5X7 photo, I matted it`on the black and white dotted paper and added several cardstock stickers. I popped up some of the cardstock stickers with some dimensional foam squares give more dimension .

Finally I added some black, grey and yellow enamel dots to my page making sure to add them in the triangle design so that the eyes would view the entire design.

I hope you enjoyed my soccer layout.  It was so much fun to create with all the beautiful, high quality patterned papers and cardstock stickers.  I’m sure you will love to create with them too!
