Thanksgiving Layout

Hello! Samantha here today with a Thanksgiving layout. I love this time of year. From fall through Christmas, I just can’t get enough of all of the festive fun. To keep everything enjoyable and not stressful, I plan a lot in advance. This year I figured I could even try planning my Thanksgiving layout in advance.

Supplies: Autumn Woods Autumn Air, Autumn Woods, Autumn Woods Pumpkin Spice, Autumn Woods Washi, Autumn Woods Puffy Stickers, Autumn Woods Cardstock Stickers, Give Thanks 3D Stickers, Kraft Card Stock

Since this is going to be a Thanksgiving layout, I wanted to build my layout around the Give Thanks 3D Stickers. They pair beautifully with the Autumn Woods collection, which is full of deep purples, rich browns, soft teal, and pumpkin orange with pops of white, yellow, and green.

Once I had a rough idea of what paper and stickers I wanted to use, I had to decide how many photos I wanted to take and use on my layout. We host Thanksgiving. I love it, but it’s busy, and I’d rather spend time with my family than fuss over photos. With that in mind, I decided two pictures will be enough. I plan on taking one picture of everyone gathered and one picture of the food.

To give myself an idea of what the finished layout will look like with photos on it, I cut photo mats to use as placeholders for the photos. I plan on using a 4″ x 6″ photo and a 4″ x 4″ photo, so I cut photo mats in 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″ and 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″.

With this naked layout finished, all I will have to do is print out my two photos and attach them to my page after thanksgiving. Prepping this page ahead of time is an easy way to keep my holidays documented without feeling overwhelmed.

Thanksgiving Containers

Hello! Samantha here today with some Thanksgiving containers. These containers are perfect for gifting snack mixes or sending home leftovers from your Thanksgiving feast.

Supplies: Autumn Woods Woodland Friends, Autumn Woods Pumpkin Spice, Autumn Woods Washi, Autumn Woods Epoxy Stickers, Autumn Woods Rice Paper Border Stickers, Autumn Woods Flake Stickers, Give Thanks 3D Stickers

These little aluminum containers come in lots of different sizes. They come with a flat cardboard top. Instead of making my own tops, I cover the top in patterned paper. This keeps the tops nice and sturdy, but makes them so much cuter!

I like these smaller containers, as they are perfect for a snack mix, a piece of pie, or small portions of leftovers.

Leaving large blank spaces on the tops gives you a place to write what is in the container, instructions for re-heating, or even the recipe for what is in the container.

Any of the papers from Autumn Woods works great for covering the lids. I used a mix of embellishments from Autumn Woods and some Thanksgiving themed stickers to embellish the tops as well.

Gratitude Journal with Natalie

Hey Paper House friends! Natalie here with a question – are you playing along with Paper House’s Gratitude Challenge?

If so – AWESOME! If not, it’s definitely not too late to get started. There are thoughtful prompts for every day. You can play along in whatever format you desire & there are PRIZES!

I decided to use a Gold Dots Journey Book for my Gratitude Journal. They come in a pack of two, so there’s another for another project soon!

I love using stamps in travelers notebooks! Washi is also an essential in your travelers notebook supply pouch. I used the washi as inspiration for the colors of my title page.

Day 1 prompt was Something Good about the past 24 hours. Since it was November 1, Halloween was the day before. I picked a photo of me, Mother of Dragons with my boys & talked about how we had fun on Halloween night!

Day Two – A place you have the most fun. I absolutely LOVE the Great Smokey Mountains. Cades Cove in the National Park is one of my favorite places in the world to be. I used the Great Outdoors papers to perfectly accomodate the photo & story.

Day Three was to discuss gratitude about someone in your everyday life. Who better to talk about on this page than my Ride or Die?

Day 4 is to talk about something about your personality that you are grateful for. I discussed my Rustic Sparkle style & how it shapes so much of my life!

Day 5 is the favorite thing about your family! I used this Call of the Wild paper from the Great Outdoors to talk about how my little family loves to go on outdoor adventures.

Day 6 is something Extra you Appreciate. I took it in satirical stride & posted about how my Mom made me Extra. LOL! Isn’t this paper, Autumn Woods, so gorgeous!?

I also used some stickers from the Autumn Woods Planner Stickers book and Autumn Wood Micro Stickers.

Rounding out the week with Day 7’s prompt of “a place that holds great memories.” We are in a Disney state of mind with a trip upcoming, and I cannot wait to see the castle lit up for the holidays again! My boys have such fun memories of our trips to Disney, and I’m so grateful we have a chance to make more soon! These Magical Memories stickers are so perfect for documenting those fun times!

I hope you will join us in our Gratitude Challenge! Post online using the #PHgratitude.

xoxo Natalie
