Anniversary Layout

Hello! Samantha here with an anniversary layout. My husband and I just celebrated 16 years of marriage. Like many people right now, this year’s celebration was pretty low key. That doesn’t mean we still shouldn’t take photos and document the occasion.

Supplies: Greenery Double Sided Paper, Beloved Double Sided Paper, Cherish Double Sided Paper, Our Anniversary 3D Sticker, This Is Us Our Family Mini Sticker Book, This Is Us Planner Girl Mini Sticker Book

Every year we take at least one photo on our anniversary. I scrap that photo, and those anniversary photos get their own book. I love the idea of being able to look back a us year by year. This year we got take out from a new taco place, I made a chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake, and we watched a movie with the dogs. The puppy was my anniversary present who we got just 6 days before our anniversary.

I built the entire layout around the Anniversary 3D stickers. I fell in love with them the first time I saw them and their beautiful pops of silver and gold foil. I decided that the subtle colors in Greenery would be the perfect paper to go with the Anniversary 3D stickers. I’ve been trying to get a bit creative with my journaling, so for this layout I journaled directly onto the layout and used 3D stickers to build a frame around the journaling. It was a simple but effective way to set off the journaling from the rest of the layout.

For some finishing touches, I added a few stickers from the This Is Us collection. I used stickers from both the Family Mini Sticker Book and Planner Girl Mini Sticker Book. I love how seamlessly the This Is Us line works with everything else Paper House has to offer.

Washi Tape Layout

Hello! Samantha with you today. I while back I posted some washi tape Harry Potter cards that used washi to create the look of a patterned paper background. Now I want to show that you can just as easily make a washi tape layout to show off some of your favorite Paper House washi.

Supplies: Butterflies Washi Tape Set, Carole Shiber Hand-Painted Sunflowers Washi Tape Set, Butterflies Faux Enamel Sticker, This Is Us Family Life Weekly Kit, This is Us Family Life Mini Sticker Book, This Is Us Our Family Mini Sticker Book, White Card Stock

Whether you just really like the pattern on a roll of washi tape or you nabbed a washi tape grab bag and have lots of washi tape to use up, creating your own patterned paper from washi tape is a fun and easy way to use your washi.

Since my photo was quite large, I could use a busier washi tape and not draw too much attention from the photo. I striped 3 different rolls of washi, 2 smaller and one larger, to created a striped background on 3/4 of my piece of white card stock. Remember that most washi tape is translucent, so even if you plan on covering your entire piece of card stock with washi tape, make sure to use a neutral color like white.

Since the butterfly washi tape has gold foiling, I decided to mirror that gold in many of my embellishments. I used gold foiled faux enamel butterfly stickers and gold foiled stickers from the This Is Us collection.

Since my photo is so large, I added some of my embellishments directly on top of my photo.

While I used horizontal stripes for my layout, you could just as easily create diagonal or vertical stripes for another stunning washi tape layout background.

Stargazer and This Is Us

Hello! Samantha here with a layout that combines Stargazer and This Is Us. As if I didn’t love Stargazer enough already, using embellishments from This Is Us opens up even more possibilities for scrapping with Stargazer!

Supplies: Stargazer Foil Paper, Galaxy Foil Paper, Stargazer Micro Stickers, This Is Us Empowerment Weekly Kit

When I saw the This Is Us Empowerment Weekly sticker book, I immediately thought of Stargazer. They both use the same beautiful deep blues and purples and have fun pops of gold throughout.

I had some photos from a recent trip to an indoor adventure park (trampolines, zip lines, foam pits, ropes course, go carts, climbing walls), and thought the colors from some of the photos would pair well with Stargazer as well. Usually I find it a bit hard to scrap these darker photos, but Stargazer always makes the perfect background for this type of photo.

I like to pair a darker print from Stargazer with a print that has a bit more white and gold. So for this layout, I used Galaxy foil paper as a lighter frame for the darker Stargazer foil paper. I mirrored this light and dark by matting my dark colored photos with a brighter frame.

I used stickers from the This Is Us Empowerment Weekly Kit to add journaling, to frame photos, and to add some dimension with layers of coordinating stickers.

I felt like the space between my photos needed a little something more, so I added some coordinating star and heart stickers from the Stargazer microstickers. I tried to keep the placement of microstickers random to have them match the free form galaxy feel of the paper.

This Is Us Sticky Note Holders

Hello! Samantha here with you today. I don’t know why, but I just really love sticky notes. I especially love the new ones from Mommy Lhey that are part of the This Is Us line. I thought it might be fun to have them more readily available (in my purse, on my desk, sitting on my kitchen counter), so I made some cute This Is Us sticky note holders.

Supplies: This Is Us Just Be You Sticky Notes, This Is Us Just Be You Weekly Kit, This Is Us Be the Change Embellished Sticker, This Is Us Our Family Mini Sticker Book, Color Washed Paper Pad

These little sticky note holders were really easy and super fun to make. They’re also a great way to use up some of your paper odds and ends. I started by cutting each sticky note pad out. I left the pads connected to the cardboard backing that they come on and just trimmed around each notepad. Leaving the cardboard backing makes the pads a little more durable.

There are a lot of Paper House papers that will coordinate with the sticky notes. I used all Color Washed paper for this project, but collections like Marbelous, Sundrenched, and Flamingo would all work really well, too.

Once I had my paper picked out, I trimmed it down to the size of the specific sticky note pad I was going to use it with. I scored about a 3/16″ wide edge to create a book edge for the pad. You can make these sticky note holders so they are top or side opening. I did a mix of both.

Finally, I used stickers from the This Is Us line to embellish the outside of my books. I used a mix of flat stickers and 3D stickers, but kept the outsides simple. I will be using these, and they will get a bit beat up in the process, so I didn’t want to get too fancy.

This Is Us Cards

Hello! Samantha here with something new. Today I’m combining some pretty patterned paper and stickers to create a pair of encouragement cards using the new This Is Us line.

Supplies: Sundrenched A Day at the Beach Foil Paper, This Is Us Bright Self Care Embellished Sticker, Be the Change Embellished Sticker, Just Be You Washi Tape Set, White Card Stock

There are lots of Paper House paper collections that match with a wide variety of the This Is Us collection (Marbellous, Colorwashed, and Stargazer are just a few of them), so the first step was choosing which paper and sticker combo I wanted. I decided on an encouragement theme, and since it’s summer right now, I wanted some bright and cheery encouragment cards. I noticed that papers from Sundrenched fit the bill; they matched the stickers and were bright and cheery.

There are a lot of different types of stickers as part of This Is Us, but I’ve found that 3D stickers make wonderful focal points for cards. Not only do they stand out because they’re 3D, but they often have glitter or foiling (or both) that really draws the eye to them.

I felt like both cards needed just a little something more, so I added a strip of washi tape for a pop of contrasting color and texture.

These are the first cards I created with This Is Us, but since there are so many great choices, I know they won’t be the last!

Family Swim Layout

Hello! Samantha here with a summery layout. Today I’m combining some of the newer tropical print papers with stickers from the brand new and super popular This is Us collection for a fun family swim layout.

Supplies: Flamingos Double Sided Paper, Flamingo Tags Double Sided Paper, Tropical Beach Double Sided Paper, Sundrenched Cardstock Multi Pack, Neon Tropical Faux Enamel Stickers, Mommy Lhey Blush Washi Tape Set, Just Be You Mini Sticker Book, Just Be You Weekly Kit

My youngest kiddo has always wanted a pool in the backyard. I’ve always said no, because they kill the grass and are a lot of work, and we have plenty of other places to swim. Well, this year with the extra long summer break, I was the one asking for the pool. We love having it and have spent lots of family time in it already!

I love the bright tropical prints in the Flamingo collection. The saturated pinks with the teal-y blue makes me happy just looking at it. I’ve found these prints really easy to mix, match, and layer too!

For embellishments, I started with some word stickers from the new This Is Us line. There are so many great stickers in this collection with lots of different color families and style “feels” that you’re bound to find something that matches your layout and your personality. While these stickers are super popular for planners, there are so many additional ways to use the This Is Us line! I also added a bit of Mommy Lhey washi tape and some gorgeous faux enamel stickers. The gold on the faux enamel stickers always adds something special to any layout.
